My father, by far, was my first Mentor in business. He was always very wise and insightful when it came to entrepreneurship. It was not a coincidence because many of his lessons came from his mother and father, or my grandparents. This is one of the reasons why I take the lessons from my 91 year old grandmother everywhere with me. My 90 year old grandfather, and 91 grandmother, in my mind & heart, was our family's first Business Coaches. Who's more qualified that your grandparents to teach you about Business and Leadership? Wasn't it some of your grandparents who initiated success for you? December is one of my favorite times of year because we get a chance to reflect on love, family, and take a break from the busyness of life to gives thanks!
 Many people make the mistake of looking elsewhere for the answers to grow their business and family, instead of looking for ENHANCEMENTS. Inside, we all have the answers but may need help to bring them out. Many of us overlook the value and answers that we have in front of us. The lessons that your grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle, mom or dad taught you are 'good enough' to have success in your business and career. Why re-invent the wheel, when the original wheel worked just fine?
Therefore, this holiday season, take some time to look "within" to discover the leaders in your family and circle. Remember, success is a family affair, not a solo act. If you aren't close to your family or have started a family of your own, then think about your community and charities close to your heart.
What are some lessons that the leaders in your family taught you? I will share one of mine... my grandmother always said.. "Baby, you are my granddaughter, approved & loved of God, and loved by your family. Always walk into a room knowing who you are and whose you are!"
Wowzer!!! That juicy nugget of leadership has helped me have an amazing career, and global training and coaching business.
